  • Xbox 360: Three red lights flash on the Ring of Light

I got the dreaded red ring of death tonight well I was in the dashboard voice chatting.   WTF????   I wasn't even stressing the Xbox's cpu with a game.  The hard drive was not under strain of I/O.  There was no DVD disk in the drive to spin.   After one year and a month my 360 gave up on me.

  • XBList - XBox Live Friends List Manager

I've been using xboxfriends.com for a long while to track who's playing what on Xbox Live.   A Digg Artical's comments lead me to XBList.  It doesn't have the external notification system but the interface is a lot better and it looks like it's been updated in the recent past.  It's also programmed in the .Net framework and scraps ...

  • Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows

Well I guess I wasn't paying attention to the announcements about this.  Microsoft is releasing a USB adaptor that you can plug into your XP or Vista PC and then connect your Wireless 360 accessories.  The best news about this is the prices is only $20.  I'm surprised the XNA community hasn't been posting more about this.  ...

  • What happened to Happy Tuesday?

A Happy Tuesday is any Tuesday that a new video game hits the store shelves. For years they (whoever they happened to be) have trained us video gamers that new games come out on Tuesday,  and for the most part games would be on the shelf sometime late Tuesday morning or afternoon (depending on when the UPS truck delivered to the store).  On ...

  • Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Soundtrack - Amon Tobin

A link from Penny Arcade pointed me to the website for Amon Tobin, who has created the soundtrack for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. One of the songs is an MP3 the rest are in real format. That reminds me to fix my Real Alternative. So I can hear the rest.

  • Sometimes simple things can be complex

The reality of adult life with a significant other and a video game addition is that you are limited in time and space.  Most games will have their computer setup and a separate setup for their console and TV.  When I lived on my own that was my reality.  A living room setup with 5.1 surround sound, 32'' Sony Trinitron TV, and a bad ...
